Our New Travel Journal

Do you ever think about that trip that changed your life? Or the people you met on it? What about your favorite meal? Or how you felt that day you leapt out of a plane or pushed yourself to new limits? Or do you ever just want to simply stroll down memory lane?

When I first started traveling around the world, I kept a journal. I recorded everything that happened to me, who I met, how I felt, and how much I spent. When I sat down a few years ago to write my memoir, that journal was indispensable. There, among its pages, were 18 months of memories, feelings, and activities long forgotten. It was a trip down memory lane that made me relive my original journey in a way I never thought possible. Reading that journal made me realize how much I had forgotten.

Since that trip, this blog has become my main journal, documenting all the people I meet, places I visit, and feelings I have.

And one thing I’ve learned from years of blogging is that most people also want to document their travels but often don’t know where to begin or how to keep up the practice. Journaling is a skill that requires practice and honesty (after all, there’s no need to sugarcoat something only you will see) — and sometimes some help to guide you.

To make it easier for you, we’ve made a guided journal called……

My Travel Journal

Journal opened to the front page with the words: My Travel Journal

This new travel-focused journal features prompts to help guide your journaling, as well as tips on how to keep the practice going throughout your trip.

The book is broken up into three sections:

1. Pre-Trip Thoughts (where you can write your intentions and plans)
2. On-Trip Thoughts (where you can write what is happening)
3. Post-Trip Thoughts (where you can reflect on your trip)

Our prompts ask you the questions you need to elicit your feelings and deep thoughts from the day, so that years from now, you can look back and remember how you really felt. They will help you record all the aspects of your trip and encourage you to journal more often.

This hardbound leather book uses recycled cream paper and will easily fit inside your backpack or suitcase (it’s only 5.5.x 8.5 inches) and has enough pages to last you enough pages to last an entire year. (We wanted to do a paper journal over a digital version because writing out your thoughts is key to journaling. The tactile touch of the pen on paper really helps your emotions and thoughts flow.)

The team and I super excited about this journal. We’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time and this year was the year it finally came together.

It comes out October 10th, but it’s available for pre-sale right now!

Our first print run is only 3,500 copies because I didn’t know how many we would need so, if this is something you are interested in, please consider getting the book this week. Pre-sales will help me figure out how many more I need to order and, with all the supply chain issues going on right now, the quicker I can get in our next order, the better!

You can buy the book directly via our website, Remember Your Travels. (It’s a basic website right now until I get the journal in hand and can start making videos so don’t judge it too harshly lol.)

We can only ship the journal to the US and Canada right now (we’re working on international shipping). The book will be available on October 10th, 2022 and pre-orders will ship the same day. We ship via USPS so it will take 4-8 days if you go by regular mail or 2 days if you order priority.

Moreover, shipping is free if you buy three or more journals.

The journal costs $27.99 + shipping.

If you buy a copy of the journal this week, I’ll send you a copy of our Ultimate Guide to Travel Hacking so you can get on the road quicker!

If you buy three journals, you not only get free shipping but I will also send you copies of ALL our destination guidebooks.

If you buy five or more journals, I’ll send you a signed copy of my books, How to Travel the World on $50 a Day and Ten Years a Nomad.

So, grab this journal for you or the travelers in your life and remember all the details of your travels. I am always so happy I recorded that first trip around the world. Those memories mean the world to me.

If you have any questions or comments, email me at [email protected].

P.S. – The journal will be available on Amazon once it’s released next month.

Book Your Trip: Logistical Tips and Tricks

Book Your Flight
Find a cheap flight by using Skyscanner. It’s my favorite search engine because it searches websites and airlines around the globe so you always know no stone is left unturned.

Book Your Accommodation
You can book your hostel with Hostelworld. If you want to stay somewhere other than a hostel, use Booking.com as they consistently return the cheapest rates for guesthouses and hotels.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Travel insurance will protect you against illness, injury, theft, and cancellations. It’s comprehensive protection in case anything goes wrong. I never go on a trip without it as I’ve had to use it many times in the past. My favorite companies that offer the best service and value are:

  • SafetyWing (best for everyone)
  • Insure My Trip (for those over 70)
  • Medjet (for additional evacuation coverage)

Ready to Book Your Trip?
Check out my resource page for the best companies to use when you travel. I list all the ones I use when I travel. They are the best in class and you can’t go wrong using them on your trip.
